MULBERRY SILK

Silk is a naturalbiodegradable fabric that requires less water to harvest than other fabrics. Mulberry silk is woven from the cocoons of domesticated silkworms that feed on the leaves of the mulberry tree. It’s recognized as one of the most awesome fabrics in the world — fine and light yet exceptionally strong and durable. Mulberry silk is a natural protein fiber, enriched with naturally-occurring amino acids that help our skin promote collagen production.

The weight of the silk in Anna O'Dor products our are 22 Momme (mm) the highest quality silk 6A — a durable and lustrous weave. It’s also hypoallergenic, completely odorless, and certified Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX (tested for harmful substances).

Why should I use mulberry silk products?

Mulberry silk (grade 6A) is the highest quality silk available on the market! 100% natural and hypoallergenic, is the most skin-friendly and hair-friendly material in the world. Mulberry silk is so smooth, it reduces friction. Hair glides over the surface, which helps prevent frizzy hair— especially helpful for those with textured, curly locks. Its smoothness can also help retain moisture in your hair and skin— keeping them more hydrated all night long. The frictionless, lustrous fabric also reduces tension on the face and can help prevent wrinkles.

Mulberry Silk vs Satin

Satin refers to a type of weave rather than to a specific fabric. It is usually produced from synthetic fibers or is a silk blend fabric that does not possess the full range of the beneficial attributes of silk. A satin product would generally refer to a synthetic product made from polyester, a petroleum-derived material, that feels soft to the touch but does not hold up over the course of the night as it is thin, rough, and does not breathe properly causing heat, moisture, and bacterial buildup.

Mulberry silk is the highest quality material, is stronger and more shimmery than satin, and is harder to produce. Silk is a natural protein fiber, enriched with naturally-occurring amino acids that help our skin promote collagen production. It's the renewable fabric to help prevent wrinkles and dry skin and hair.

Mulberry Silk vs Cotton

Mulberry silk defends your skin from dehydration, unlike cotton which absorbs moisture from skin and hair, as well as our precious night care products.

Mulberry silk will help you maintain clear skin: it doesn't pick up as much pore-clogging bacteria as cotton does.

Mulberry silk collection is hypoallergenic, resistant to dust mites, soft, smooth and less absorbent than cotton.

The pillowcase of 100% mulberry silk is naturally anti-aging, anti-sleep crease, and anti-bed head. Your skin will stay healthy and hydrated while you sleep. A cotton pillowcase's rough surface rubs your delicate skin and hair, causing damage and dehydration.
